Guided Meditation

by Diana

Relax, ground yourself and enter a meditative state.

You are at the base of a wide marble stair at the entrance of a very large art gallery. You ascend the steps, counting them as you go. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and find yourself at the tall, glass-doored entrance where you can see into the main gallery that has its walls lined with many exquisite paintings of landscapes from around the world. From where you are, you hear the sounds of everyday life, but as you enter through the doors into the cool hall that is covered with a rich Persian carpet and the doors slowly close, the sounds fade away. You begin walking as you look from side to side at the immense space containing so many beautiful paintings and drawings and photographs of our Earth. As you make your way in awe, you realize there is a partition wall in front of you that has but one painting hung on it and you approach it. The painting grows larger and larger and fills your entire visibility and you see that it is three dimensional and you are seeing into it as out of a window. This is the window which opens into a world of your own creation. It changes as you are watching it. When it reaches the form of a volcanic island in the middle of an ocean, you look closer and begin moving into the painting. You are swept along as on a warm and gentle breeze that lifts you happily along while you enjoy the sparkle of the sunlight on the water and the beauty of so many tints of blues and greens. The tall island has an open meadow at its top where you see a stone cottage surrounded by beautiful tropical flowers. You arrive at the porch and climb its three gray, wooden steps. It is cool and inviting with its white wicker furniture and there is a pitcher of cool water with lemons floating in it and two glasses waiting for you. You sit and look out over the meadow at the line of tree tops that surround it. While you relax and drink in the surroundings, you feel the presence of someone dear and loving sitting next to you. You turn with a smile on your face and see that you are in the company of a spirit guide. The guide nods and invites you to speak by reaching out a palm turned upward. You have many questions and thoughts and they begin to tumble from your lips as you fill with the excitement of knowing you are finding your truth. You are to see things revealed that are meant just for you. As your breath runs out and you have emptied your yearnings, your guide nods once more and speaks. This is a language only you can understand. The guide’s words have a deep and utter profoundness to them. You are weeping with joy. The guide comes close and you are enveloped in love and are filled with gratitude. As your guide takes leave you speak words of this gratitude and ask permission to return again. This permission is granted and you are left to complete your stay on the porch. You take as much time as you need to contemplate your guide’s words and their meanings. When you are finished, you rise up to make your journey back to the gallery. You descend off the porch, take a look around at the beautiful meadow and find yourself rising on the current of air that is produced with the sunshine’s warmth. You are far above the island and are moving away across the ocean. You turn to look only at the island and find you are standing in the gallery once again with the painting in full view. It begins it’s changes as if a movie and you make note of other scenes you would like to experience at another time.
As you turn to approach the glass entrance, you are awaking from your journey, slowly bringing yourself back to the world of your body. You see it through the doors and hear it as you open them. All is quite well with the world and you are happy to be in it.
