I was watching a show on Hulu the other evening and a 30 second advertisement came on. It was from Allstate insurance, I believe; and was totally focused on saving money and doing / being with family. How utterly joyful everyone was while doing these things. I was momentarily shocked and then realized they were merely playing to the public, as all good advertising should; BUT, it was so pleasant to watch the activities and facial expressions of the actors, I found myself replaying the ad in my mind. I was impressed.
You probably haven’t noticed the categories I’ve placed this article under, but they include Currently Minded, Life Modeling, and All Things My Children. Are you keeping all these topics ever present in your mind too?
I am positive that all of us who are engrossed in daily existence are doing what we can to be conscientious – more conscious, more economical in all areas of our lives, perhaps wondering why all that “Secret” stuff on abundance has gone awry. We are adjusting our aspirations to fit in with our new economical life styling. We are a bit more aware of our earth and have striven to tackle human awareness with a vengeance. We can be proud of our efforts!
Isn’t there a little tug, though, that is whispering, “I hope the rough stuff doesn’t last forever?” There is for me, and yet, even though life has been tough for most of my life, I can assure myself with complete conviction, “I have it good.” I’ve been reading some of Byron Katie lately. I can see from her view and have worked hard to do just that in most of my adult life. Taking the approach that all things are the way they are supposed to be is a giant step toward freedom.
Finding joy is paramount to actualizing that freedom. If we think that isn’t true, then we need to analyze what part we think should change and see that changing it won’t necessarily bring joy either. We need to be ever present and find joy in every aspect of our lives.
Doing what we can and finding joy in every action and moment will bring changes. Find the joy. We know, for things to change, things must change.
